Have you started working on your nutrition but aren’t quite getting the results you were hoping for?
Or do you just need to refocus and work on your wellbeing?
In either scenario, looking at inflammation may be super useful.
It’s a bit of an obscure topic so let me break it down.
Inflammation is a warning signal in response to stressors (think injury, toxins, chemicals and infections) released when our body recognises something needs to be fixed.
Once the fixing has been done, the inflammation should disappear.
In theory.
In reality, many of us are left with low-grade inflammation that may be holding our wellbeing back.
It may manifest as:
- trouble losing weight or a sluggish metabolism
- low energy/ low mood
- poor concentration
- bloating or other digestive issues
- sore joints or general aches
- poor recovery from illness or always picking up every cold going
- skin issues
- trouble falling asleep or staying asleep
- hormone imbalances
- high blood pressure or high cholesterol
& many more
In addition, inflammation is the hallmark of many chronic conditions, including arthritis, IBD, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Ok, that all sounds very serious.
In actual fact, an anti-inflammatory approach could benefit many of us, irrespective of where you may be on your health journey.
